WELCOME
St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Uniontown, Pennsylvania, was organized December 18, 1885.  There were forty-one charter members.  Services began in a rented hall until the building of the new church was completed in spring of 1887.  Because of the growth in church membership, in 1922, the church council recommended and approved plans for a new building.  The "Festival of Dedication" was held May 18, 1924.

The internal life of the congregation has been spiritually strengthened throughout the years by numerous programs, such as Luther League, Beginner's, Toddler's and Children's church, Nursery, Cradle Roll, Vacation Bible School, three English Handbell Choirs, three Voice choirs, WELCA, Women's Groups, just to name a few, plus Sunday School classes for all ages.

The property of the parish has been increased and improved since its beginnings, with many major enlargements, remodelings and additional properties.  Luther Hall, formerly a parsonage, was converted to a parish hall and church offices.

December, 1969, the church cemetery and Christ Chapel at Chalk Hill became part of St. Paul's through a merger with the congregation of Christ Lutheran Church.

Many new improvements have been made in the past years to St. Paul's including the installation of a new roof, sand blasting the exterior, additional Sunday School rooms, replacing all stained glass windows, the air conditioning of the nave of the church and the addition of a handicap ramp.  Plans are for a new Schantz pipe organ to be installed in the church in 2002.

With notable spiritual vitality, St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church is in its second century of her service and commitment to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
